Video games introduction

1) What were the first video games like?
They were really plain and simple and if you were to compare to a modern game like Overwatch, and an old game like tennis for two, i'm sure that most people would rather play Overwatch due to the better graphics, quality and has multiple things to do unlike  the tennis for two which you can only do the same a few pixels.2) How have video games changed over time?
They slowly began to become more colourful and began to add different levels as well as objectives. They also began to take over consoles in order to be playable.
3) What do the most successful games have in common? Answer this in as much detail as you can. Think about audience pleasures - what do people like about playing video games?

4) What criticisms have been made towards video games over the years? Here's a good article on the impact of videogames on players that might be helpful.
Over the years video games have been lightly criticised  but as they get more modern, you can see that most video games are about shooting and fighting. Now many people are now saying that these types of games are encouraging violence and gang violence however I disagree as usually in these types of games people would help the new players or let them live. Additionally, in most games, there are options that you can choose and i have researched that over 70% of gamers tend to choose the path that would result in a happy ending.
1) How many Fortnite players are there worldwide? Here's an updated article with recent figures for you.

Currently on the 11th of June 2020 at 14:26, there are 3574762 players logged on to fortnite and those numbers will only increase since they currently have a monthly amount of new-comers of 78.3 million people!

2) Why is it so popular? What are the audience pleasures of the game?
Famous YouTubers, such as Jacksepticeye and PewDiePie,upload video footage from their matches. One of PewDiePie’s videos, for instance, has amassed nearly nine million views in just over two weeks. Also, the game is cross platform, meaning that PC,Nintendo Switch, mobile,Xbox and PlayStation players can compete against one another. 3) Why might some people criticise Fortnite?
Apex, PUBG, and other Battle Royale fans hate Fortnite because they wish its players were playing their favourite. People love to hate whatever's big. Whether they see it everywhere, have friends who won't shut up about it, or think it's harming kids, people just hate what's got everyone else excited.
